Meet Rebecca

Rebecca’s practice includes representing clients in the areas of estate and trust planning, estate administration, and guardianship and conservatorship proceedings and administration. Rebecca’s practice includes special needs planning where she assists with drafting self-settled special needs trust and third-party special needs trust. Rebecca also represents parents of children with special needs in petitioning to be their child’s guardian. Rebecca is a court-certified guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults.

Rebecca was appointed by the 16th Judicial Circuit of Virginia to serve as the Commissioner of Accounts for the Circuit Court of Albemarle County. As Commissioner of Accounts, Rebecca is responsible for overseeing fiduciaries who qualify in Albemarle Circuit Court as the Executors or Administrator of a decedent’s estate. The Commissioner of Accounts also assists the Court by supervising foreclosing trustees, trustees of testamentary trusts, conservatorships of incapacitated adults and guardianships of the property of minors. The Commissioner of Accounts is also responsible for conducting hearings on creditor claims, determining reasonable compensation for fiduciaries, supervising sufficiency of fiduciary bonds, and resolving other issues that arise during the administration of an estate.
